As a reminder that we are called to be saints and live a life of holiness, each class is named after one of two our class saints: St. Alban or St. John Henry Newman.
The children begin each academic year by learning about their class saint's life, why they are a good role model and how, through their example, we might become closer to Christ ourselves.
Each academic year, children alternate between the two. This means, that by the end of their time at Holy Rood School, they come to know about the lives and work of both saints and can leave our school taking guidance from how our class saints lived their lives to make Christ known to all.
